Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies DeleteMyLeaks uses, why we use them, and how you can manage them.

1.What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are used to remember information about your visit so the site can work correctly on your next visit or session.

2.Cookies we use

We use only essential cookies. We do not run advertising networks, behavioral tracking, or third-party analytics on this site.

Session and authentication cookies

When you sign in to your account, a session cookie is set to keep you logged in across pages. This cookie expires when you close your browser or explicitly sign out. It is strictly necessary for the service to function and cannot be disabled without breaking your account access.

Security cookies

We set a CSRF (cross-site request forgery) protection token on authenticated requests. This is a security requirement and is not used for tracking.

Preference cookies

If you have saved preferences within the dashboard (such as display settings), a cookie may store those locally to avoid fetching them on every page load. These contain no personally identifiable information.

3.Cookies we do NOT use

We do not use:

  • Advertising or retargeting cookies (no ad networks).
  • Analytics cookies (we do not run Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, or similar tools).
  • Social media tracking pixels.
  • Cross-site tracking of any kind.

4.Fonts and external resources

Our site uses Google Fonts loaded via Next.js, which self-hosts the font files. No request is made to Google's servers when you load the page, so no Google cookies are set.

5.Third-party cookies from payment processor

When you proceed to checkout or manage your subscription, you are redirected to our PCI-compliant payment processor's hosted checkout page. The payment processor may set their own cookies on their domain. These are governed by their own privacy and cookie policy, not this one.

6.How to manage cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Instructions for major browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data.
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions.

7.Impact of disabling cookies

Disabling all cookies will prevent you from signing in to your account and using the service dashboard. Essential session cookies are required for the service to function. Non-essential preference cookies can be disabled without affecting service access.

8.Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if we add new cookies or change how existing ones are used. Material changes will be noted with an updated effective date.
