How to Report Leaked Posts

Reddit has its own copyright (DMCA) form, which you can reach from reddit.com/report, and its rules ban posting content that infringes someone's copyright. Reddit decides each notice. We can't tell you how fast it acts, because we have not filed with Reddit ourselves.

A DMCA notice is for content you created and own, which usually includes your own paid content. Reddit's rules also ban posting intimate or sexually explicit media of someone without their consent, and you can report a post for that from its Report option or from reddit.com/report. Reddit decides which policy applies, and you can use both.

Six things: your physical or electronic signature (a typed full name is common); the work that was copied, such as a link to your original post; the link to every Reddit post or media file that carries it; your contact details; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized; and a statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the content or are authorized to act for the owner. Platforms can pass a notice on to the person who posted the content, so use contact details you are comfortable sharing.

Leak subreddits come and go, so we don't keep a list of them. Searching by your names and handles finds a post in whichever subreddit it sits, once search engines pick it up.

Report the Reddit post, and send a notice to the site that holds the files too, because removing the post leaves the files up. Our scans look for leak sites directly by your names and handles; we don't follow links out of Reddit posts. When a site we find publishes a DMCA contact or form, we send it a takedown notice once a person confirms the match, and recheck the page a day, a week and a month later, until it is gone, while your plan is active.

Reddit posts that come up when your names are searched are flagged for our team to review. We don't file DMCA notices or intimate media reports with Reddit for you, so use Reddit's own forms for the posts themselves. When the same content is on leak sites that come up when your names are searched, we send those sites takedown notices where they publish a contact. Our team can also ask Google, Bing and Brave to remove a page from search results; we don't promise when it drops.
