Acceptable Use Policy
This policy defines acceptable use of the DeleteMyLeaks platform. Violating it may result in account suspension, termination, and legal liability. It supplements and is incorporated into our Terms of Service.
1.Core requirement: own what you submit
The service exists to help creators protect their own original content. You may only submit content for monitoring and takedown if you are the copyright owner or have explicit written authorization from the copyright owner to act on their behalf. Submitting content you do not own is a violation of US copyright law and these Terms.
2.Prohibited uses
The following uses are strictly prohibited:
- Submitting DMCA notices for content you do not own or have rights to.
- Using the service to suppress lawful speech, journalism, commentary, criticism, or fair use.
- Targeting a competitor's legitimately published content to gain commercial advantage.
- Filing takedowns against content that falls under fair use, parody, or other lawful exception.
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits or account bans.
- Impersonating another creator, brand, or organization when submitting notices.
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract DeleteMyLeaks' detection algorithms, models, or platform data.
- Using the service for any purpose that violates applicable local, national, or international law.
3.Copyright ownership verification
We reserve the right to request proof of copyright ownership before submitting or continuing to submit notices on your behalf. Acceptable proof includes:
- Original unedited source files with full EXIF metadata.
- Platform upload receipts, timestamps, or access to the source account.
- Copyright registration certificate (where applicable).
- A signed declaration under penalty of perjury that you created the content and own the copyright.
4.Agency and multi-creator accounts
If you manage accounts on behalf of multiple creators, you are responsible for ensuring that:
- Each creator has provided explicit written authorization for you to file notices on their behalf.
- You have verified copyright ownership for all content submitted under each creator's account.
- Any violation by a creator you represent may result in termination of both their account and yours.
5.Consequences of violation
Violations of this policy may result in:
- Immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.
- Reporting to the affected party and relevant authorities.
- Civil liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f) for knowing misrepresentation in a DMCA notice, including damages, costs, and attorney fees.
- Criminal liability where applicable law permits.
- A permanent ban from the service.
6.Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is abusing the DeleteMyLeaks platform to file false or fraudulent DMCA notices against your content, please contact us at [email protected] with the subject line 'AUP Abuse Report'. Include the URL of the affected content and any relevant details.
7.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service or applicable law. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
